I have a lot to celebrate. Can you believe I have been blogging for six years! It has been an amazing journey where I have met so many great people and learned so much. So many of my dreams have come true in these six years. Bring out the champagne!!

I am excited to share the cover and blurb for the next Amanda adventure, available October 1, 2016. I think it is fabulous! Hope you like it too. I had fun revisiting the sites along the Danube as I wrote this book.

Amandaonthe Danube

Twelve-year-old Amanda Ross finds herself on an elegant riverboat with her bestie, Leah, cruising down the beautiful Danube, passing medieval castles, luscious green valleys and charming villages. When she is entrusted with a valuable violin by a young, homeless musician during a stop in Germany, a mean boy immediately attempts to take it from her. Back on their cruise, Amanda struggles to keep the precious violin safe for the poor prodigy. Along the way, she encounters a mysterious monk, a Santa Claus look-alike, and the same nasty boy. Follow Amanda down the Danube, through Germany, Austria and Hungary, as she enjoys the enchanting sounds of music everywhere she goes. She remains on the lookout, wondering just who she can trust.

Wait, there’s more!! It has also been six years since my first book was published. To celebrate, Amanda in Arabia – The Perfume Flask, ebook version, will be available free from June 17 to 30th on most sites. Here is a chance to meet Amanda, if you haven’t yet. Please tell your friends! And if you feel inclined to write a short review, that would be most appreciated. Thank you so much for those who already have.

Thanks so much for all the support you have given me and Amanda over the past 6 years. I could not have done it without you. Mucho Besos

Things are heating up. And I don’t mean the weather because it’s doubtful that’s going to happen this year. What is happening, is my second book, Amanda in Spain-The Girl in the Painting, has been released in print and the book launch is scheduled for June 25 at Albany Books. Albany Books is a wonderful, cozy, well stocked bookstore here in my home town of Tsawwassen, BC. I appreciate how Ruth and her staff are so supportive of local authors. http://www.albanybooks.com/

Albany Books

In my spare time I have been busy marketing and promoting the event. This includes hanging posters, wonderfully created by my talented publisher, Michelle from ireadiwrite Publishing, (who is also responsible for the smashing cover), sending out press releases, emails and postings on various sites. The marketing, as writers are aware, is a lot of work, but also fun. My grade three teacher may even attend. How wonderful would that be? She is someone who encouraged me to follow my dreams at a young age.

The outfit has been purchased, nail polish picked out, chapter to be read chosen and I feel so ready. The problem is – I still can’t believe that this little girl from the farm, actually has two books published! I often feel I may wake up and find this was all a dream.

To celebrate the print publication of my second book, I am giving away a copy of Amanda in Spain. To enter, just add a brief comment to this posting, and your email address (if I don’t already have it, so I can let you know if you win) and on June 25, the day of the launch, I will have my husband Paul draw the lucky winner. Pass this blog onto your friends so they can have a chance at winning.

The heat is on to have a successful launch and some good sales. This kind of heat I can handle – now if only we could do something about this unseasonably cool weather!
