Doors of Murcia With Christmas Decorations

Posted on: December 21, 2024

Welcome to Thursday Doors! This week’s theme was favourite doors, but that was too difficult for me to narrow down. Since last week’s theme was Christmas, I decided to go with that. I recently took a bus to Murcia, a city in Spain, about 40 minutes from where I live, to see the Christmas lights. They were spectacular against the backdrop of amazing architecture. Here are a few pictures.

It was an evening of a full moon which added to the event.

One of the many decorated Christmas trees.

In front of the town hall doors, stood a nutcracker on guard.

The front doors of the famous Murcia Cathedral.

The well-decorated streets of downtown Murcia

Angels were everywhere!

The front doors of the Nunnery

A side door of the Nunnery, off the courtyard.

Many buildings were decorated.

More angels

Classy! Thanks for posting!

Thanks, John. Glad you liked the photos.

These are wonderful doors and photos, Darlene. Thanks so much for sharing them! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

I love the celebrations. Thank you for this, Darlene.

The Spanish cities and towns love to decorate for Christmas. Not the individual houses though. That’s more North American.

Beautiful, Darlene. The architecture is stunning and what a wonderful addition of all the lights. I really like the “chandeliers” over the street. How fun. Thanks for sharing all the photos!

They sure put me in the Christmas mood! Seeing the lights with the old buildings was very magical.

These are spectacular, Darlene!!! ❣️🎄

Thanks, Cindy. They were amazing!

What a feast for the eyes these photos are! Thank you for sharing them with us.

It was like a Christmas wonderland. And I only shared a few of them. We walked 2 kilometres and didn’t see everything.

Just the Best Season of All!

My favourite? The Nutcracker!

I have to agree. He looked straight out of Alice in Wonderland.

Beautiful! We were in Murcia this past fall, what a great part of Spain you live in 😊 Maggie

I agree. Murcia is a hidden gem.

Delightful

Thanks, Sheree. Have a super Christmas!

Wow, the decorations really are spectacular and beautiful. You must have had a wonderful evening.

Miriam

It was the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Glad you enjoyed the decorations.

Lovely shots. And well done hubby!

Thanks, Steve. He always does a great job of the lights.

These are all wonderful, Darlene! The lights create such a great effect, and I like what you have done with your home 😊

The lights are amazing and all LED so energy efficient. Hubby always does such a great job of the outdoor lights. Thanks, Clive.

He does it very well, and it’s good that he’s looking after the planet too 😊

Spectacular indeed, Darlene!

It was quite something to experience. Thanks, Dave.

Great doors and holiday decorations, Darlene.

Thanks, John. They do go all out with the decorations here.

I love all the lights. Those who are lucky enough to visit or live there, must feel quite cheerful.

There were so many people there but all very happy and well behaved. The lights are all LED so don’t use a lot of energy. I always enjoyed the Carol Ships in Ladner. Do they still do that?

Yes, they do. I believe they were here last week!

I’m glad they still do it. When Paul was the coxswain of the Lifeboat, I got to be in it a couple of times. It was cold but fun. xo

I loved this dreamy, nighttime Christmas tour. Thanks, Darlene!

It was so much fun, I could feel the excitement in the air.

So pretty, Darlene. Lovely to see them,

Thanks, Karen. So pleased you enjoyed them. xo

Lovely set of captures. I like your approach to just focus on the Christmas theme again, which seems rather fitting since Christmas is only a few days away. Love all the twinkling lights at night and the giant nutcracker on guard.

I have always loved Nutcrackers and this one was fantastic. I too loved the lights. One tree had over 7000 LED lights. Wow!

Beautiful and festive photos Darlene. Terri and I are both suckers for a big display of Christmas lights. They’re becoming more common which makes it nice. I think that many small towns realize that, relatively speaking, they don’t take that much effort, and they really do add zest to the holiday for locals and tourists alike.

It snowed at our house yesterday so we are mentally ready for the Big Red Elf. Take care and have a fun and relaxing Holiday. ~James

The lights really make it for me. Individual houses don’t typically decorate the outside here in Spain. So we are one of the few who do and hubby loves doing it. But the towns and cities go all out and entire families come out to view the displays. So it is another reason for folks to get together. Community spirit is big here and contagious. I know the snow is lovely, but I really don’t miss it. Reports from home tell me there is a lot there too. (I say as I write out Christmas cards sitting outside in shirt sleeves). Wishing you both a fabulous Christmas!! xo

I love your the lights at your front door, Darlene. The wonderful lights and festive feel in the photos is a delight. Thanks for sharing too your highlights. A fun share well done. Merry Christmas and happy decorating for the holidays!
