Thursday Doors: The Amazing Doors of Thailand

Posted on: February 2, 2024

Welcome to Thursday Doors! This is a weekly challenge over at Dan Antion’s blog for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favourite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world.

I found many unique doors and windows during my recent visit to Thailand. Here are just a few of my favourite.

A traditional wooden Thai building

The door to a Yoga studio

Windows of a temple in the countryside

A Thai Starbucks

A bookstore in Pai, Thailand. Of course, I bought a book there.

Doors to cabins for rent by the river in Pai, Thailand

There will be more doors in Thailand to come.

Lovely photos, Darlene. Such different door!

They were quite unique.

So awesome you were in thailand!
I hope you had fun while you were there!

It was great! More pictures and stories to come.

I have been to Bangkok only and found it fascinating and fun…would love to explore more and these pics make me want to even more! Bravo!

I spent most of my time in Chiang Mai with a side trip to Chiang Rai, and Pai in the mountains. It was fabulous.

I’m trying hard not to be jealous, Darlene, but it’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit. A future adventure for Amanda?

It was a dream come true for me. You never know, Amanda may go to Thailand.

VERY interesting doors, Darlene! And well photographed. 🙂

Thanks, Dave. Some pictures were taken from the car!

Super doors, Darlene. Loved that Starbucks one.

I know, I was so amazed at the Starbucks fitting in so nicely with the surroundings.

That Starbucks was unexpected!

It was a surprise for me as well. I love that they made such an effort to fit in the surroundings.

loved these darling and Thailand is on my bucket list❣️

I do hope you get there. It is wonderful!

I love Thailand and have been fortunate to have been there many times. The doors that you have captured our gorgeous. I look forward to more Thailand posts from you.

I can see the attraction to this lovely country with smiling faces everywhere. There will be many more posts.

Good to see, Darlene! Certainly different…
Our nephew Ian married a Thai woman last year, after a long courtship. Do hope it all works out and they will be happy as they are both decent, good souls.

My brother is very happy with his Thai wife and stepdaughter. They have a lovely life together.

Always good to hear, Darlene. Being lucky with a life partner is so important for so many reasons…Fancy having to constantly ‘watch your back!’ (Eric says he sleeps with one eye open, in case I go down his pockets…) Tee hee. Be well. Hugs x

These are beautiful buildings and doors, Darlene. I’m so glad you included a book store.

I can never miss a bookstore. I bought a copy of The Dubliners by James Joyce. The owner of the bookstore is from – Dublin!!

We just spent a month in Bangkok and some of these doors ring a bell in our recollection (smile). Great choices!

A month in Bangkok would be awesome. I only spent an evening there as I visited my brother in Chiang Mai. But I loved Thailand as you can tell.

Chiang Mai is awesome! Great that your bro lives there,

A fine range of buildings

The buildings were quite unique and fascinating!

Lovely doors! I’m looking forward to more on Thailand.

Thanks, Anne. There will be more.

They are amazing Darlene and they do make you want to explore inside…♥

Those cabins for rent look inviting!

I’m so pleased you enjoyed your visit, Darlene…looking forward to seeing more of your pictures xoxo

I had such a great time and it was so nice to be able to have a chat with you.

Likewise, Darlene…I’m happy you got to see some of Thailand and see why we love it as I’m sure your brother does 🙂 xoxo

I love the range of doors from weathered to gold-leafed! And a Thai Starbucks. What’s next? LOL!

Wait till you see the next batch of doors! I love that Thai Starbucks too.

Those are pretty amazing doors, Darlene.

Lovely doors, Darlene. Some of them are very beautiful.

Glad you like them. I love checking out the doors and windows whenever I travel.

When you say DOORS, Darlene, I have to LOOK. Doors in Thailand are distinctive with curving lines, much as I would expect. Thanks!

Glad you liked the doors of Thailand, Marian. xo

Beautiful, Darlene. I loved the journey. ❤️

Incredible architecture!

These are wonderful doors, Darlene. I especially like the door to the yoga studio, Starbucks, and of course the book store.

Thanks, Jennie. The doors were as delightful as the people in Thailand.

Interesting doors! Wood seems to be the predominant building material.

For the traditional house, yes. It was teak as well!

Darlene, I’ve been enjoying the vacation photos you’ve posted on Facebook too. Great doors. It’s funny — the style of the Starbucks logo seems perfect for that building — makes it seem like it belongs there. Hugs.

I know, I thought the same. Glad you enjoyed travelling with me. Hugs back. xo

Great doors, Darlene. What an amazing trip! It’s fun to travel with you through your photos.

Thanks, Lauren. I’m glad you could travel with me through my photos.

Beautiful photos. The doors in Thailand are very different compared to what we have in Canada!

They are very different to the doors in Spain as well. Everything about Thailand was different but I loved it!

Very cool post! Thailand looks like a beautiful place.

It was amazing! Thanks for stopping in.

The Starbucks door was funny. Would not have expected that.

I know. It was a pleasant surprise.

Fantastic doors Darlene. No doubts there were so many. I chuckled at the Starbuck’s one. 🙂 x

There were many many fabulous doors!! I loved the Starbucks.

Fascinating doors, Darlene

Thanks, Toni. Glad you liked them!

Something about brown wooden doors that says stability, grounding, and security. These doors in Thailand sure are grand. Lovely photo essay Darlene. Nancy Andres at Colors 4 Health

Thank you for visiting and commenting, Nancy.

Thanks, Darlene. They are great.

Thanks, Olga. Glad you liked this collection of doors.
