Self-Published Saturday is my effort to help Self-Published and Indie authors promote their books. Today I’m reviewing Amanda in France: Fire in the Cathedral by Darlene Foster. This is an indie book published by Central Avenue Publishing, an independent publisher. Darlene also agreed to do a Q&A, and her delightful answers are below.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Amanda explores the exciting streets of Paris, the fabulous Palace of Versailles and the gardens of the painter Claude Monet, while being drawn into the mystery surrounding the destructive fire at Notre Dame cathedral.

Amanda is in love! With Paris – the city of love. She’s in awe of the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, and Notre Dame Cathedral. While there, she gets to work as a volunteer and stay in a famous book store, along with her bestie, Leah, and Leah’s eccentric Aunt Jenny. A dream come true for a book…

Wonderful, Darlene. It’s on my list.

Thanks, Norah.

I’ve pre-ordered. So loooong to wait. 🙂

Thanks so much. It will be here before we know it!

It will. I better finish some of the others I’ve already started reading! 🙂

Congratulations again, Darlene!

Thanks, Liz. I am so happy with the early reviews of this book.

It was a pleasure to read! Thanks again for doing the Q&A. Your answers were wonderful.

Your questions were good, they made me think.

congrats Darlene! ❤

Thanks, Carol anne!

Super interview and review.

Thanks, John. So pleased you enjoyed it.

Great to see this terrific conversation!

Bonnie had some great questions. Glad you enjoyed it.

HI Darlene, a lovely review and interview. I was interested in your comment that Amanda would never visit somewhere you hadn’t been yourself. I have also found it is easier to write about places you have been to, but research (a lot of it) does help to close the gap).

I so agree and I do tons of research. What I meant was she doesn’t get to visit a country until I do (for selfish reasons). I don’t actually visit all the sites she does in every book. I hope through my research, the reader cannot tell which sites I have been to and which I haven’t. I find YouTube videos very helpful and I’ve been on some HeyGo tours which are excellent. Glad you enjoyed the interview.

Excellent review, Darlene. Bonnie Reads and Writes looks like a great site!

Thanks, Debra! It is a great site. Bonnie is so supportive of writers.

Bonnie does such an excellent job with book reviews. She covers all the important information. Congrats on this.

Thanks, Jacqui, I so agree. I love the look of the post as well.

What a lovely review of your latest book. I thoroughly enjoyed the Q&As. My dad was a dairy farmer and I never learned how to milk a cow either! I like that your love of travelling has provided much inspiration for your writing.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I always felt like I was a failure as a farmer’s daughter. So pleased you enjoyed the interview.

Congratulations, Darlene! Amanda reminds us that adventures are all around us.

Exactly. When I was a young girl, we had an old abandoned car on our farm. (I think it was already there when we bought the place). My aunt and I would sit in that car and pretend we were travelling the world. Adventures are all around us if we are open to them!

Awesome review Darlene. Looking forward to reading this latest Amanda adventure!

I loved writing this book as I enjoyed France so much. It was sad to write about the fire but it added some reality to a work of fiction.

I’m impressed with so many ways you’ve traveled, Darlene!

Thanks, Miriam. When I thought of it, I had travelled in many different ways.

My ways of travel are limited to by cars, planes, and boats, Darlene.

Thank you for sharing another great interview, Darlene. I loved Amanda in France and highly recommend it!

Thank you, Donna. So pleased you enjoyed Amanda’s adventure in France.

Excellent discussion, Darlene. It was fun learning some new things about you. I left a comment over on Bonnie’s site.

Super review of your latest Amanda Travels series books! You must be very pleasedl

I am over the moon pleased about this. Thanks, Nancy!!

I popped over and commented on the full post. Very nicely done. I love this book

Thanks so much, Chris.

I loved, loved this interview! I learned even more about you, and about writing the Amanda books. I’m so looking forward to Amanda in France!

Thanks, Jennie. So glad you enjoyed the interview. Always more to learn about me. Soon there will be no secrets!

Haha! I think my favorite was your many, many ways of travel. 😀

Great review, Darlene, and I really liked the interview. Congrats on the success of Amanda’s latest adventure.

Thanks, Diana. It really was a great interview. I’m so pleased with the early reviews of this book.

What a wonderful setting for Amanda’s latest adventure, Darlene. The fire, although awful, is perfect for building tension and mystery. And I loved the interview, including your thoughts on book marketing.

Thanks, Audrey. France, and Paris in particular, is a great setting to work with. Glad you enjoyed the interview.

Congratulations, Darlene! What a great review. Toni x

Thanks, Toni! I’m delighted.

Thanks so much, Lauren. The books do not need to be read in order. I do hope you enjoy Amanda’s adventure in France. Have a great week.

I’m sure I will, Darlene, and have a good week, too.

That sounds like an amazing book! I’ll have to check it out. I didn’t like Paris when I was there but I did fall in love with Germany 🥰❤️

Thanks, I hope you enjoy the book should you read it. There are so many wonderful places to visit.

I’m sure I will!
