I am honoured to be featured on Tea Toast & Trivia where I am interviewed by Rebecca Budd. It is my first podcast, so I would love to know what you think of it.

Thank you, Darlene, for being a guest on Tea Toast & Trivia and for introducing me to Amanda. I look forward to following Amanda across the world and enjoying the feeling of being a 12-year-old. As I look back, it was when I was 12 that reading became very important to me because books allowed me to see possibilities and opportunities. I appreciated your honesty – that writing was hard work, but well worth the effort. Your encouragement of aspiring writers to continue to write was heartwarming. I look forward to our ongoing discussions. Life is best when shared with kindred spirits.

I’ll check it out, Darlene. My one and only podcast didn’t do too well, because the audio should have been boosted a little. I’m sure yours is well-miked! 🙂

Hi Marian! I just signed up to follow your blog. Let’s connect for a podcast sometime in 2021. There are many podcasts with great content but the audio recording is complex especially when you are at a distance and depend upon internet connection. There are a great many clicks, clacks even hisses etc that are inherent when you are on line. I was beyond thrilled that Darlene’s voice came through beautifully and I am looking forward to a return visit to TTT for a reading of Amanda.

Thanks, Marian. I was concerned about doing the podcast but Rebecca and her techy hubby, Don do such a great job of putting this together. I am more than pleased at how it turned out.

Great interview, Darlene! I think it’s fantastic that you were encouraged t write your stories down by your third-grade teacher and that you took the time to reach out and thank her. From a teacher’s perspective, I can tell you that these are some of the most precious memories of my teaching career.
Nice to hear how the character Amanda came to be.

Thanks so much, Pete. Teachers need to be thanked as they can make such a difference in a child´s life. I was so happy to find her and to learn she had written a book as well. Big hugs and a few tears.

Darlene as many of the guest posts that I have read where you are being interviewed, there is something about hearing your voice that makes the information all the richer. I don’t think that you are odd being able to easily identify with 12 year olds. As you point out with so many in your life at one time or another you have that extra perspective. Congratulations on being featured this way.

I am sure I will! 😀 I listened to half of it on the way to my mother’s today and love it! The drive was too short! The conversation between you both flows so naturally and I love learning about your travels, the impact of your Grade 3 teacher not only on your writing but the whole course of your life. It is wonderful to put a voice to you, Darlene and a fantastic interview. Can’t wait to listen to the rest! 😀❤️

Excellent, Darlene! I really should drag myself, kicking and screaming, into the 19th century and look at podcasts! 🙂

Glad you liked it. I was a bit worried about it but, like many new things, it was painless. Nothing wrong with the 19th century though and I often wish I was back there. (no COVID, just Cholera)
