Travel Challenge – Day 6

Posted on: January 19, 2021

I was nominated by my blogging friend Geoff LePard at TanGental to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. It doesn´t have to be 10 consecutive days. Thanks, Geoff!

The photo from Day 5 is from the Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands which Andrew guessed right away. Many of you guessed Holland/The Netherlands, a country renowned for its beautiful flowers. I had wanted to visit Holland for a long time and was delighted to be invited by a friend living there to visit. She surprised me with a trip to these amazing gardens. Here is a post with tons more pictures of the flowers. These amazing gardens are featured in Amanda in Holland: Missing in Action.

Today I nominate Karen from Backroad Journal On her blog she shares mouth watering recipes, interesting places and enjoyable pastimes that she finds no matter where in the world she happens to be.

If I nominate you and you don’t want to participate, please do not feel obliged, but if you do, please link back to me so that I can see your post. In these times vicarious travel is a great escape, I would love to see what you choose to post.

This is my picture for day 6. If you want to guess where this is, leave your answer in the comments or just comment on the picture.

A lovely picture, Darlene. I have no idea where it is though.

It will soon be revealed.

Looks like a scene out of an old western. My guess is New Mexico. It’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit.

I got an American Southwest vibe from it as well.

You would love New Mexico!

Love that picture!

One of my favourites as well.

Incredible photos from a round the world – bravo Darlene!

This has been such a great exercise as it reminds me of all the amazing places I have been fortunate enough to visit! Better than being sad about the places I can´t visit right now.

New Mexico?

The right state! Thanks, Vic.

Another outstanding picture. Thanks for sharing Darlene.

This is one of my favourite pictures. It brings back some awesome memories.

Lovely shot, Darlene!
I am greatly enjoying this challenge. Thank you for inviting me to join along.

Thanks for playing along. It is a great way to remember all the wonderful trips we´ve made over the years.

This one has me stumped!

It will soon be revealed. This is a place you would like.

Taos, New Mexico

Once again you got it right! Proving you are well travelled. I think you need to be nominated as you have some great travel photos.

I did the challenge in December.

Of course, now I remember. I love how you guess all these places. I hope I can stump you at least once.

I am a detective Darlene.

By the time I arrive here, many have registered good guesses. I, too, vote for the American southwest, New Mexico.

I associate Taos with the writings of Julie Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way, and more.

I believe she wrote the book while staying in Taos. I enjoyed my visit there a lot. Many creative people have lived there like D H Lawrence and Geogia O’keefe.

New Mexico is my guess, Darlene. I don’t know where though. I’m planning a trip to NM and Amanda’s book is going to help me. I’ll bet I would know where the photo was taken if I’d already read the book. 🙂

Yes, this place is mentioned in the book. You will love New Mexico, it is a fascinating state!

🙂 My brother who just moved to Hawaii in October, is moving to NM next. The guy is a nut but he lives in some great places.

Everyone needs a nut of a brother. I have one who lives in Thailand. Love him to bits.

Yay for brothers. I adore mine too.

Wherever it is….love this picture. Fascinating adobe structures!!

I love this picture too. I took many pictures of this site as it was so special but this one is my favourite with the stream in front. Can you believe people still live there?

Have no idea. You can tell I don’t get out much, lol.

I hope you get to visit one day as it is an amazing place. Reveal in next post coming p.

Darlene, Its always fun to see your pictures and read tales of your posts.

I’m glad you are enjoying these travel challenges.

I am loving your travel challenge images, Darlene x Can’t guess most of them as I haven’t travelled around those parts of the world x

But you have been to places I haven´t been to. Glad you are enjoying the pictures. xo

I’m guessing somewhere in the southwest, like Texas or New Mexico.

New Mexico it is, Taos Pueblo to be exact. A fascinating place.

Wonderful shot .

I have wonderful memories of my visit to the Taos Pueblo. I did like the way this photo turned out. Thanks.

well Darlene, this is a beautiful photo! Really enjoying your photos! ❤

Thanks. The world is full of unique and beautiful places.
