Travel Challenge – Day 2

Posted on: January 12, 2021

The photo for day 1 was of Tofino, BC, Canada. Some of you guessed the west coast of Canada, well done! Tofino is as far west as you can get in Canada and is a fabulous place for surfing and storm watching. I wrote about our last visit here: https://darlenefoster.wordpress.com/2014/02/23/tofino-get-away/

I was nominated by my blogging friend Geoff LePard at TanGental to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. It doesn´t have to be 10 consecutive days. Thanks, Geoff!

I nominate Beth Ann at It’s Just Life. Check out her blog full of inspiring posts about her travels, family, life, teapot collection, and her adorable cats as well as thoughts about life.

If I nominate you and you don’t want to participate, please do not feel obliged, but if you do, please link back to me so that I can see your post. In these times vicarious travel is a great escape, I would love to see what you choose to post.

This is my picture for day 2. If you want to guess where this is, leave your answer in the comments.

No idea, but I’m guessing somewhere in Spain?

You got the right country!

You are correct, Anne!

Now that is a work of art. Amazing.

It really is. Inside is just as awesome.

My best guess, Espana, but I have no idea where. I’ll hold my breath until you reveal soon – ha!

You´ve got the right country. Well done.

Somewhere in Spain, I’d wager! What an intriguing building!! I look forward to learning more.

Right country! Thanks, Liz.

You’re welcome, Darlene. 🙂

Awesome! This picture reminds me of your beautiful description of a building in ‘Amanda in Spain.’ 🙂

This building is featured in Amanda in Spain!

Beautiful shot! I LOVE traveling in Spain.

Spain has such gorgeous buildings.

Stunning image, Darlene… wonderful architecture 🙂 x

Casa Batllo, Barcelona?

Yes, it is! I thought you would recognize it!

I have no idea – but it sure is a beautiful pic!

And I didn’t cheat by looking at previous answers, lol.

It is a beautiful building inside and out. Good for you for not cheating. xo

I hope to see it in person at some point. Gorgeous.

I do hope you get to visit it. You will love it.

What a lovely picture, Darlene. It looks like somewhere in Europe, maybe Spain, where you live?

It is in Spain. It is an exceptional building in y favourite city.

I wasn’t sure if it was Spain as I’ve never been there. It has the Latino look about it though, very pretty.

Great capture….love the architecture!

You have enough photos to post daily for years! I always love your sharing. I haven’t taken any for such a long time, and I used to always have a real camera in my hand as a journalist. Enjoy your sharing!

Thanks, Patricia. I do have a lot of travel photos, it´s hard to chose what to feature so I´m picking my favourite places. I still use a real camera, not my phone. Just a point and shoot though, nothing fancy or complicated.

That is a stunning exterior. I can’t wait to find out where it is.

The inside is even more amazing. Location to be revealed soon.

lol as a non-traveller I wouldn’t have a clue but it’s gorgeous!

But it’s fun to look at travel pictures, isn’t it. This one is from Barcelona, Spain.

Beautiful. I do have a Pinterest board called Inspiring places. It’s nice to be transported their via photograph 🙂

It looks like a castle with rainbow bubbles blown against it.

Unbelievably it was someone’s house, designed by Gaudi. Casa Batllo is now a tourist attraction in Barcelona. It is magical inside and out.

Someone’s house- wow! Magical is an excellent word. 🙂

We’d like to go to Barcelona when the Sagrada Familia is finished! Love Gaudi, so whimsical.

Every time I go to Barcelona there are new developments at Sagrada Familia. So exciting to see it come to completion. Gaudi is amazing!

The recent photos amaze me. When I was there there was no roof and they projected finishing in 1992 for the Barcelona Olympics!

THIS world I would love to see in person!

Gaudi’s buildings in Barcelona are amazing. So unique.
