Travel Challenge Day 1

Posted on: January 10, 2021

I was nominated by my blogging friend Geoff LePard at TanGental to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. It doesn´t have to be 10 consecutive days. Thanks, Geoff!

I nominate Sue and Dave at Travels of Life. Check out their blog full of interesting travel destinations and fun things to do, even in times of limited travel.

If I nominate you and you don’t want to participate, please do not feel obliged, but if you do, please link back to me so that I can see your post. In these times vicarious travel is a great escape, I would love to see what you choose to post.

This is my picture for day 1. If you want to guess where this is, leave your answer in the comments.

Beautiful shot…nature always shows off in the best ways – looking forward to the next 9 days~

Thanks, John. One of my favourite places.

The ocean needs no explanation. I love it.

For a prairie girl, the ocean has always fascinated me.

Darlene, a fun challenge and what a good excuse to revisit your travel photos! 😀I love this one of the ocean waves and imagine an old wreck to the bottom left corner!

That is what I thought, a great way to revisit past holidays since we still can’t go anywhere.

I’m glad I didn’t get nominated. I haven’t been anywhere to speak of in over a year. Lots and memories lodged in photo albums and blog posts though! )

No one has been anywhere, except to the grocery store! We have to live in memories for now. Stay safe my friend.

I love the oceans, Darlene. Wonderful capture. 😊

Me too. I didn´t see the ocean until I was an adult. This place is especially special to me.

I’m the other way around, Darlene. I grew up in Hong Kong which is sounded by the sea. Then I came to Seattle, WA and Portland, OR where water front is right in front of me. I’m now in southern CA with the ocean half an hour drive away. I don’t take it for granted.

I can almost hear the waves. So soothing.

Very soothing. People love to visit this place during the stormy season for that reason.

A lovely shot Darlene! It’s inspiring me to write a poem. 🙂

That is so great. I would love to read the poem. You have my permission to use this picture should you post the poem on your blog or publish it anywhere. xo

Thanks Darlene. Ocean and waves have inspired many of my poems. 🙂 Here is the one:

A lovely poem, thanks for sharing. The call of the sea is strong.

Marvellous. Glad you’ve had a go. Canadian Pacific coast perchance? Is that a merperson?

Thanks for the nomination. Great guess. As far west as you can go in Canada!

What a beautiful shot! Thank you for sharing this with us.
I am incredibly grateful to leave near an ocean. So even when I cannot technically travel, nature’s beauty is never far away!

You leave near this place! We loved living on the west coast of Canada.

Let’s see, blue water, calm–the Pacific? NW? Where else is there blue water?

A good guess. It is as far west as you can get in Canada. It is magical especially when it is wild.

I don’t know where the photo was taken (even with your clues!), but I would love to go there.

You would so love this place, Liz.

Beautiful image Darlene…I love the sea 🙂 x

Thanks. So do I. I lived on the prairies so nowhere near the sea. I didn´t visit the Pacific ocean until I was a young adult and fell in love with it.

Looks like an awesome coastal setting wherever it is!! 🙂

It´s Tofino, BC. On the west coast of Vancouver Island. AS far west as you can get in Canada. I love it there.

Wow….we spend so much time in the Pacific Northwest, but have not gone that far up…..looks awesome!

You would just love it. It is an artists haven. And if you go there, you have to stop into Roy Henry Vickers art gallery. He is amazing. https://royhenryvickers.com/

One of my favourite places, Darlene! Thanks for the reminder.

Lovely, Darlene. Knowing your traveling, this could be most anywhere.

It is Tofino, BC as far west as you can go in Canada! Thought I would start with my home country.

Ah! Thank you for the answer. Starting with your home country is an excellent idea.

Lovely picture, Darlene. Thanks for adding your photos to Click & Run.

Thanks! It’s from the west coast of Canada. Thought I’d start with a favourite spot from home.
