Posted on: October 15, 2020

I am pleased to be featured on fellow Canadian author, Diane Tibert´s blog as a guest. Check out what inspired me to write Amanda in Holland.

Diana Tibert

Darlene FosterIntroducing children’s author Darlene Foster. She has several books in the Amanda series: Amanda in New Mexico, Amanda in Danube, Amanda in Alberta, Amanda in England, Amanda in Spain and Amanda in Arabia. Her Most recent book, Amanda in Holland – Missing in Acton, was released in September 2019. In this interview, she shares a little about it.

1) What is the title of your recent book? Is it a series, what genre is it and is it suitable for all ages?

My most recent book is Amanda in Holland: Missing in Action, book number seven in the Amanda Travels series featuring a young girl who has an exciting adventure wherever she travels. Although this a series, each book can be read as a stand-alone and does not have to be read in any order. The books are written for children between the ages of 7 to…

Well done for producing this series. Great stories, well thought out and very well written. Keep ‘me coming!

Thanks for your support, it means a lot.

Terrific series of books that explore the world and tell a great story at the same time!

My two nieces have really enjoyed Darlene’s Amanda series and read three of them already. Keep ’em coming, Darlene. Cheers. x

Thanks so much, Joy. Always nice to hear if the books are enjoyed.

You are SUCH an inspiration for pushing your creativity to the finish line. And Congratulations again for publishing Amanda in Holland this year. 🙂

Thanks, Marian. Amanda in Malta had to be delayed to May 2021. So glad we got this one published before the pandemic. It’s been a tricky year.

You’ve found a winning formula, Darlene. Keep up the good work!

I’ve just ordered my copy Darlene. I liked your point about Amanda not being perfect and that she makes mistakes. An important part of role modelling for young girls.

Thanks, Sue. Striving for perfection can cause all sorts of issues for young girls. I think you will enjoy the Holland book and will recognize one scene!

Lovely interview, Darlene.

Great interview, Darlene. Thank you for sharing this.

Fabulous interview, Darlene!

Thanks, Jennie. Once again you can see how a teacher reading a book out loud to her students, resulted in an adult writing a book!

Yes! It makes all the difference in the world. 😀

Congrats on having Amanda in Holland featured on Diana’s blog Darlene!! Great author to feature Diana!! Love her series…great writer!!

I’m so glad you got to visit Holland, Darlene. The book captured so many wonderful details. Great interview with Diane. 🙂

It was a dream come true for me. I think you mentioned you visited your grandmother there when you were a girl. Such a wonderful country.

For a month when I was eleven, Darlene. We traveled all over the country, and I loved it. And still have family there. 🙂

Such a brilliant concept and series, Darlene – and a fabulous interview. Toni x
