Cowboy Wisdom

My Dad was a cowboy. Not the Hollywood type, but a real cowboy – a man who tended cattle. A hard-working man of integrity, loyalty and determination, he almost always wore his signature cowboy hat and boots, jeans and western shirt. He lived the code of the cowboy where a man’s word was a man’s word and you…

Lovely post Darlene and thank you for letting me share..hugsx

Thanks, it was great to see it out there again and getting some love. xo

I’m so happy to have now met your dad. What a wonderful man he was!

He was one in a million for sure. Glad to be able to share him with my blogging friends.

What a wonderful post to read. Thank you for sharing your Dad with us!

So pleased you enjoyed the post!

Now he’s a guy I’d like to bump into. He and my old man would have love a good chinwag, me thinks

Yes, they would have. We took Mom and Dad to England with us once and everyone loved him. Everyone wanted their picture taken with him wearing his cowboy hat. In London, people would point and say, JR. He got along well with my British father-in-law too. He loved to share stories with everyone he met.

Sounds the perfect companion. We were always dragging dad away from conversations that were as deeply involved as they were badly timed – at airports for instance

What a wonderful tribute to your Dad Darlene. He sounds like an incredible man.

Thanks, Sue. You would have just loved him. I have been meaning to ask, How is your mom doing?

Thanks for asking Darlene. She is doing well and hasn’t left her condo in 6 weeks. She is writing a post for a few weeks from now on what it is like to be one of the most vulnerable in the face of the pandemic.

That´s great. I can’t wait to read it. Hugs to all.

What a wonderful post, Darlene. Thank you for sharing your Dad and his wisdom with us. #senisal

So pleased you liked it!! Thanks.

What a great picture. I’m off to read the post.

This was one of my favorite posts. ❤️

Awe! Thanks. Dad would be pleased to hear that. Hugs!!

I’m so glad!! 😍

‘A hard-working man of integrity, loyalty and determination.’ This is what the world needs to hear more of – men and women. I think we are so bombarded by stories of the opposite, that we have little belief that people like your dad still exist, and they do. What a beautiful picture of your wonderful relationship with your father. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Thanks for your lovely comment. Some may say, They don´t make them like that anymore. But they do, my son is very much like my dad!
