Posted on: December 9, 2018

Dot is featured on Ani’s Advent Calendar today. Read her letter and leave a comment. I will be away until the New Year but will check in from time to time. Dot, Paul and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Dot last year. Not happy as a reindeer.

Sue Vincent's Daily Echo

We haven’t had any Christmas cards yet. We don’t get many except the ones we get by email, The two-legs says there used to be loads of them when the boys were at home, and she’d have to make a special trip to recycle most of them afterwards.

She says that the email ones are probably better for the forests, but she sighs anyway. It isn’t easy giving up the things you enjoy, even when you know it is for the best. But she loves trees better than cards and they last longer. Except when she keeps them for years and years…

And she does keep some of them. Every year, when she gets the trimmings out for the tree, she takes them out of the box and I watch her. Sometimes she smiles, sometimes there is a stray tear, but she always goes all soft.

She likes letters. Not…

Have a good trip, wherever you go. Merry Christmas.

Thanks! I’ll be going back to Alberta to see my mom and grandkids. I’ll miss Dot and Paul though. Merry Christmas to all of you as well. Dot says Hi to Beano.bow wow

Have a lovely time. I am sure your mum will love to have you there for her birthday. Do wish her a very happy birthday from me, please. 🍰🎁💖🍷

Is that were our Christmas cards went? Too Bad.

Every year we get fewer but when we get one we get very excited.

Great letter, Dot!

Thanks, Jennie.

You’re welcome, Darlene. 🙂

Great post, Darlene. I left a message over at Sue’s.

I saw it, thanks! Have a wonderful Christmas with your family and your lovely new little niece!!

Safe travels to Alberta, Darlene! Merry Christmas to all. You too, Sue, across the miles!

Thank you so much. Have a wonderful Christmas Marian.

I wish there was a cat size of that reindeer hat. Tho I think our cats would probably murder me LOL

Having had cats in the past I am sure they would put up quite a fight!

Haha they sure would. 😌

Always love when Dot gets her paws on the keyboard. Slap though it will be a different Christmas to be apart how lovely to celebrate your Mom’s special birthday.

Have a very special Christmas with your family, Sue!!

Have a blessed and happy Christmas, Darlene!

Thank you and you as well!!

Safe travels to Alberta and merry Christmas, Darlene. I left a comment on Sue’s blog, too.

Thanks, Natalie. Have a wonderful Christmas. xo

Hope you’re having a fabulous time with your mother, Darlene! I loved the post from you and Dot … I too miss the cards but we still get quite a few! Here the cost of sending a letter is putting many off using the mail and it is expensive. Ahh…the Xmas tree ornaments are full of precious memories and I love to take my time dressing the tree. Merry Christmas to you and your family … God Jul! xx

I’m leaving for Canada tomorrow. It will be good to spend time with mom and my grandkids but I’ll miss my Dot. Glad you enjoyed the letter. Postage has gotten very expensive all over. I am lucky to still get some cards but not as many as I used too. The tree ornaments are one of my favourite things about Christmas. God Jul to you as well, Annika.

Seems a wonderful idea to use email for christmas cards…. thinking of all the trees that would be saved. It’s good too overall to have a consciousness about sustainability at the rate we are going here on earth… there is a new climate reality and we all have to do our fair share no matter how small, it all adds up.

Wishing you all the best for the holidays and a very happy new year. Thanks for your support of our blog and do stay warm.

Big hugs
Peta

Thanks Peta. Wishing you a fabulous Christmas as well. Xo

Thanks Kirt. All the best to you and yours as well.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, Darlene. I know you’re having an incredible Canadian visit with family. xo
