The Christmas season is an important time for we Seniors to present gifts to our grandchildren. And some of us even produce these gifts. A great example is the Amanda book series by Darlene Foster, who began her writing career in her mid-50s. Her book series will encourage your young relatives to read, read, and read some more! That is the beginning of wisdom and a fulfilling life.

The Amanda book series has six members so far. Each takes place in a different location where Amanda Ross, the title character, learns about that location, meets new friends, and pursues a bit of a mystery. Charming and educational in a fun way. A lovely post, Darlene.

Thanks! It was a wonderful surprise.

How wonderful of them to publish this–and it’s true!

I was delighted with it. Thanks!

The best type of reblog for you ….. free unsolicited marketing is the best kind!

You are so right there. It certainly made my day.

That was a lovely post and a great idea. Reminds me to order the latest books too.

Thanks, Diane. You have been such a great fan of Amanda and her adventures!!

What a great promo & suggestion!

It is great, isn’t it and a nice surprise for me.

Well I definitely concur the series would make a brilliant gift. Mine are happily awaiting for just the right time for our special little girl.

That was so cool that you bought the set in anticipation. She will soon be old enough to have you read them to her. One grandparent was reading them to her granddaughter at age three.

Oh well that is coming soon. We’ll see how things look next year!

Some kid regret having a teacher for a father or grandfather and so do some friends. We think books are the greatest possible gifts. Well they are ! ! !

My grandkids just know they will get books from me for Christmas and birthdays.

That’s a nice angle to recommend your books from. Books are a wonderful gift for children (or indeed anyone), and I imagine if you’ve written them yourself they’re all the more special to the recipient.

Thanks, Lorna. I’m pleased to see that children still love getting books as gifts.

Love the post and love the reminder/suggestion!!

Thanks, Kirt. It’s never too early to start building that book collection!!

Well done Darlene for this promotional post.

Thanks! I was pleased wth it.
