Sally Cronin is featuring a post from my archives about my visit to the Keukenhof Gardens two years ago. I´m currently busy writing Amanda in Holland: Missing in Action, where Amanda and Leah visit this amazing place. Hop on over to see the pictures. I hope it makes you feel springy.

I love tulips. They are by far my favourite flower. So you can imagine my delight when we arrived at Keukenhof, the famous tulip gardens in Holland. Greeted by a sea of tulips in the brightest colours imaginable, I was like a child at a candy store. Covering 32 hectares, over 7 million tulips, daffodils and other spring flowers are on display amongst well kept shrubs, trees and blossoms.

Interesting sculptures and works of art are displayed throughout the gardens. I climbed to the top of a traditional windmill, or molen, to get an amazing view of…

With the promise of Spring, I’m eagerly heading over to read! Good luck with your writing, Darlene! 😀🌺

Spring is hopefully coming ! What a great piece from the archives. Thanks for sharing it here!

You are so welcome. It´s good to recycle these every now and again.

Thanks for sharing! I’m all in for spring. After the deep freeze here, birds are chirping more in Florida, a good sign.

I´ve heard about your cold winter. I hope the cheery tulips help. Spring should be just around the corner for you.

Enjoyed reading this. I love tulips so much but unfortunately they are like candy to the deer that frequent our yard!

I know, deer love tulips so it would not be prudent to plant them. A nice bouquet in the house would be OK though!! (or just look at my pictures!)

Those tulips are glorious! Having just arrived back to Canada the lack of colour is rather shocking i must say. Looking forward to spring and the return of the vibrant shades. Best wishes on the writing Darlene.

Thanks, Sue. Pleased you are home, safe and sound. The first time I flew into Calgary, in March, after moving to Vancouver, I couldn´t believe the lack of colour. It felt like I had arrived on the moon! The next time, I brought tulips for my friends. I´m sure your colour will appear soon. Glad you enjoyed the pictures of the tulips.

Haha it does seem a bit like the moon doesn’t it. I’m going to spend Feb in Sask with my Mom who is having surgery. Now that is really like the moon!

I’m sure it will be. I hope all goes well with your mom. It’s nice you can be with her. Hugs to both of you.

Thanks Darlene. Really appreciate your good wishes.

This is glorious. Loved reading and commenting over at Sally’s.

So pleased you loved the post! It seems it was worth recycling.

[…] Darlene does a 2 in 1 here, Sally is featuring one of her posts, all about going to Holland. If like me, you are looking out the window to a very dull, grey day then pop on over to see some beautiful colour via Smorgasbord Posts from Your Archives – Tiptoeing Through the Tulips at Keukenhof by Darlene Fo… […]

Lovely post and the flowers looked gorgeous. As I said on Sally’s blog, a good reason to go back and see them.

This is something worth returning too. Thanks, Diane.

Tulips make everyone happy. Thanks for stopping by.

You’re welcome, I enjoyed my time here!

Sounds interesting! I’ll head over and have a read.

What a gorgeous picture at the top!

It is a great place to take pictures. That one is my favourite as well.

I have been there in Keukenhof a few years ago and it was awesome. I never have seen such wonderful amazing tulips garden in my life. I took a lot of photos there and a lot of videos as well.

It is quite incredible, isn´t it? Glad this brought back some good memories.

Yes, it was. Lovely memory indeed.
