Review! Amanda in New Mexico: Ghosts in the Wind by Darlene Foster

Posted on: December 7, 2017

A wonderful review from a savvy young reader. This is some of what he has to say.

Looking for a great holiday gift? If you have a child who loves a great adventure with characters they can connect with, I highly recommend the Amanda series. Amanda is a bit of Nancy Drew, Laura Croft and Carmen San Diego all rolled into one!

Synopsis from Publisher- “Amanda Ross is on a school trip to Taos, New Mexico with several of her fellow creative students. It’s great how many adult reviews you get, but to get a child’s perspective directly is terrific. It sounds as if he’s really thought about the story and why he liked it, which is impressive.

I appreciate all the reviews I get but it is a real treat to get one from a young person. Especially one who reads as much as this one does. I also recently heard from a mom who is using my books while homeschooling her 11-year-old. He wrote me a letter to tell me how much he loves my books. These things tell me I am on the right track!

That’s wonderful. 🙂

Such a great review, congratulations Darlene.

Thanks, Barbara. It made my day!!

You’re getting a lot of PR! Great! Left a comment on Erik’s site.

I am, thanks so much. Saw your comment. It is good for the soul to get this kind of feedback.

Congratulations, Darlene!! An early present for you! 😃 This was a lovely thoughtful review – you could tell he really cared Amanda and her story.

The reviewer is a very busy 16-year-old, who has been reviewing books since he was ten. I am amazed that he still takes the time to write reviews of my books. His reviews are so professionally done too.

Fabulous review, Darlene. Even more thrilling coming from one of your directed audience ❤

It makes it extra special, to be sure.

I think a review from a child is the greatest praise of all. I feel like I have treasure stashed away for our granddaughter with all of the copies of your books. Perhaps I will be able to add another to the collection next year?

Thanks again for purchasing the collection for your little one. She is growing up quickly and it won´t be long and you will be reading them to her. Working on Amanda in Holland as we speak. In fact, just wrote the part where a cell phone falls into a cow paddy! Wonder where I got that idea??

Great review…congrats Darlene!
