It´s day 3 of the New Year and time to post my goals for 2017. We never know what´s in store for us as a new year begins but by setting some goals, I believe I can make it a good year.

First I want to share this great list of New Years Resolutions for Writers I found on Lynn Thaler´s blogsite.

Thanks, Lynn. These are perfect!! Check out Lynn´s blog as she writes some great posts, especially about her four dogs!

Over at  It´s Just Life, Beth Ann challenges her readers to chose 3 words to focus on this year. I decided my three words for 2017 will be: kindness, strength and curiosity. I feel they will help me achieve my goals. This month Beth Ann will donate five cents to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® for every comment made on her site. A cause after my own heart as our Dot was a rescue dog. Pop on over and make a comment or two. Her posts are fun and enlightening.

My goals for 2017!

  1. Prepare Amanda in New Mexico – Ghosts in the Wind for publication in the fall of 2017.
  2. Return to Canada in October to promote the newest book
  3. Write Amanda in Holland, book seven of the series
  4. Explore places in Spain we haven´t been to before.
  5. Return to England to visit family and friends
  6. Go on at least one interesting trip outside of Spain
  7. Attend Pueblo Ingles or a similar program assisting Spanish-speaking individuals with their communication English
  8. Create a new up-to-date website
  9. Organize the files on my computer
  10. Learn to use the new Samsung Tablet Santa delivered!
  11. Keep in touch with family and friends, including friends on social media.
  12. Be kind, be strong and never stop being curious

Wish me luck with these goals! I would love to read about yours.

As my son recently said, “Happy New Year. Another year to Chase Dreams and Achieve more Goals.”

If you meet all those goals you’ve set for yourself, you should have an incredible year. 🙂

I will certainly try! Have a wonderful year ahead, Karen.

Thanks so much for the sweet shout out. You know you are one of my favorite and most encouraging readers and I love that we can stay connected through social media. I love seeing pictures of Dot and need to finish up reading all the Amanda books! That is on my to do list this year! Happy 2017!

You are so welcome! I am so glad we met via the armadillo and have kept in touch. Yours is one of my favourite blogs.May 2017 be as fabulous as you are!!

I like the New Year acrostic and also you ambitious goals for 2017 which I have no doubt you will achieve. Right now I’m working hard to complete your # 8 with the help of a professional – updating my website by Feb. 1. This is the year I MUST complete my memoir manuscript. I’m sure you will hold me accountable. Ha!

I am currently working on number 8 as well with my web designer brother. I know you will complete the memoir manuscript this year!! I also know it will be a good year. xo

Wow, that’s quite a list of goals. Sending you lots of luck, Darlene! In the acrostic, I especially like “You control your writing time.” Very true, yet sometimes so hard to believe.

Thanks, Marcia! It took me a long time to realize I do control my writing time.

Wow those are amazing goals Darlene! I’m hoping your trip to Calgary will find us connecting this time. Best of luck with your year ahead!

Thanks, Sue. It is already shaping up to be a good year!!

I DO wish you luck! That’s quite the list 🙂

Wonderful goals Darlene! Loved your son’s great New Year’s message!

Thanks, Irene. I loved his message too.

Those are great N Y resolutions, Darlene. I wish you best of luck with them, but I am confident you will conquer them all! 💖

Thanks Fatima!. With everyone´s encouragement, I just might!!

Good luck with your list Darlene!

That list looks daunting to me ! Good luck with it 🙂 May your New Year be filled with kindness, strength and curiosity!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the good wishes. All the best for 2017!

It sounds like an exciting time for you – Happy New Year Darlene!

Thanks, Megan!! All the best to you and your travelling plans for 2017!!

Best of luck with your goals, Darlene, you’ve got quite an ambitious list there. I admire your enthusiasm and positive attitude, and have full confidence you’ll rise to your challenges admirably. The word ‘simplify’ has been on my mind in relation to the new year so that would be one of my three words. Two others that come to mind are organisation and discovery. I’d like to do a better job of organising various areas of my life, and I look forward to discovering new things in the coming months. I like your three, they sound inspiring.

Thanks for your best wishes, Lorna. I like your three words also. They go together well. I wish you best of luck in simplifying and organizing your life so that you can discover new and amazing things!! XO

Hello Darlene…these are great goals for you….pretty interesting and I am curious to see your accomplishments….of course I know you well enough to know you have given much thought before writing them down. I set myself some goals too and my three words will be active, passion and creativity. I look forward to Oct visit:)

Your words are great! Have a fabulous 2017 and I will see you before you know it. Let’s Skype soon.

That’s awesome! Best of luck with your goals! 🙂
I want to write more (I have a few ideas for novels, and want to get drafts down), learn piano/organ, practice my accordion, and read more for pleasure. 🙂

You are the busiest young man I know. I am sure you will accomplish those goals. I look forward to reading your novels soon.

What great goals, especially the first three ones. I might try doing this for myself. Have a fantastic 2017 !

Writing goals down really helps! Have a great 2017 as well!!

I leave you my post about celebration of New Year’s Eve in Madrid!
I hope you will enjoy it 🙂
Happy New Year !

New Year´s Eve in Madrid sounds like fun. Even here in our small town on the Costa Blanca we had lots of fireworks you could see from the terrace. I ate my 12 grapes!! Thanks for visiting my blog.

Yes it is a lot of traffic and fun here in New Year. costa Blanca- so great ! 😀 I love fireworks also 😀 I ate 12 grapes also with rings of the clock 🙂 Thank you 🙂

That is such an inspiring list of goals Darlene, I hope you achieve all of them. I’m going to go away and think about a few goals to set myself now, but first I want to visit the blogs you mention, thank you for including the links.

Thanks, Barbara. I find writing down my goals gives me something to look forward to the coming year. Enjoy the other blogs.

I hope you share your progress, especially with that Samsun Tablet. I got a Surface Pro and am enjoying the heck out of it.

I am still learning my way around the tablet but I think I will enjoy it.

Thanks for taking the time to join us at the Senior Salon.

You´re welcome. It´s such a great idea.

Love your new blog by the way! Well done for visiting all those schools and talking to the children about your books.

Thanks so much Stevie! I love talking, especially to children.
